A reputable company if you're looking to book tours. A few ideas (depending on time): Day trip to Arenal Volcano, ziplining, hot springs, waterfall and canopy tours, boat cruises etc. If you just want to wing it when you get there, there's a lot of tour companies around Tamarindo - it's pretty easy to set something up a day or two beforehand.
You can't really go wrong in Tamarindo. So much good food and drink to stumble upon. Several of our favorites around town: BREAKFAST Breaking Bread - We're obsessed with this place. Best sandwiches - breakfast or lunch. Café Tico - Local foods, but something for everyone. The coffee is the best! Santa Rita Cafe - cute cafe with great coffee and food Pico Bistro - Breakfast on the beach! Also great for sunset LUNCH/DINNER El Mercadito - Open air food stalls with something for everyone. Great atmosphere and bar. La Boca - Argentinian food. Soccer bar. Dragonfly - One of the top restaurants. Awesome food overall. Little lucha - Best tacos and margaritas La esquina - Pizza. Super good. Bamboo sushi. Great sushi and fun atmosphere Fish and cheeses In Playa Langosta - Good wines and Italian dishes. Jardin Tamarindo Food Truck Park - Fun, casual space to grab food and listen to live music.
If you want to venture to a nearby beach, 30 minutes south of Tamarindo is Playa Avellanas. Go to Lola's beach bar for an afternoon. Amazing drinks and sunsets - we stumbled across this place our first time visiting CR and it is a gem. This is where we took our engagement pictures!
In Arenal Volcano National Park, you can find just about any adventure you're looking for - go zip lining, atv around the volcano, soak in one of the many natural hot springs in the area, go hiking in a natural preserve, swim under a waterfall at La Fortuna Waterfall. If you have the chance to extend your trip, a couple days in this area is worth it!

Tons of places to rent surf boards and lessons around town. Here's one of the main shops. If you have ever wanted to try a surf lesson, Tamarindo Beach is the place to do it! The Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve is a great place for zip lining, hiking, and leisurely nature walks. It is located about 3 hours away from Tamarindo. The Reserve consists of over 26,000 acres of cloud forest and 6 ecological zones, 90% of which are virgin forest. It has a high biodiversity, consisting of over 2,500 plant species (including the most orchid species in a single place), 100 species of mammals, 400 bird species, 120 reptilian and amphibian species, and thousands of insects.
