Our Story

Emily and Cameron met on Bumble! Emily was intrigued when she saw that she and Cameron had the same answer for the question “Who would be your dream dinner date?” Their answer was Lin-Manuel Miranda. A musical theatre lover, check! She also appreciated that he was an educator like herself. A potential indicator of a selfless, loving, dedicated person. Over time, she discovered that Cameron is all of those things and more. On their first date, she discovered he was goofy, sweet, and very cute. Cameron appreciated Emily’s confidence and… direct communication style. She said, “You and I seem to have some stuff in common. Let’s get coffee,” and so they did. This was in January 2020 and they have been inseparable ever since. Mostly because of the instant connection they felt with each other, and also because they were quarantining together due to a global pandemic two months after they met. And as much as that sucked, they wouldn’t have wanted to socially isolate with anyone else. Fast forward to October 2021 at their Halloween party, Cameron, dressed as King Triton (kind of) proposed to Emily dressed as Ursula after their dear friends performed the beautiful, silly, romantic, musical-theatre lip sync he coordinated. In their almost three years together, Emily and Cameron have experienced so much of what life has to offer: from a pandemic, a dramatic career change and the loss of loved ones to a new home, exciting travels, quiet time and fun adventures. Being together makes the good stuff sweeter and the hard times easier to face. Whatever life has in store in the future, Emily and Cameron feel comforted and grateful that they’ll be experiencing it together.
