While we were in Tuscany last fall we had the opportunity to visit Podere il Casale, a family owned farm in the small town of Pienza. Here we learned to make homemade pasta from the owner of the farm, Sandra. While we also traveled to Florence, Rome and Cinque Terre, our days spent in Tuscany were our favorite of the trip. As we sat overlooking the Tuscan hillside eating our freshly made pasta, we joked about the idea of having our wedding in the very location we were eating in. A few months later, we could not imagine saying "I do!" anywhere else.
The wedding itself will happen at Podere il Casale in Pienza. We will be staying at an Agriturismo (Italy's version of a bed and breakfast) also in Pienza but plan to take day trips to surrounding towns such as Montepulciano, Montalcino, Siena, etc. For more information on the venue please visit the Podere il Casale website: https://podereilcasale.com/en/
We made the difficult decision to spend our special day with just our immediate families. While we wish we could have all our beloved friends and family members with us, the thought of arranging so many people to travel across the world seemed not only daunting, but a lot to ask of everyone. We are so grateful you are understanding of this decision and we will be sure to share lots of photos from our trip and special day.
We will be spending a week in Tuscany with our families, celebrating not only our wedding but enjoying this special time all together.
We've decided that our October wedding celebration will be our only one. After considering the idea of having a second, larger celebration back home, we decided that we would like to keep things as simple as possible. We look forward to celebrating our marriage with all of our beloved friends and family over the next couple of months. Thank you for your love and support!
