Elyssa and Tyler met in 2014 at The University of New Hampshire. Elyssa walked into one of their mutual friend's apartments one night and immediately was drawn to Tyler's gregarious personality and contagious laugh. After 6 months of being good friends and getting to know one another better, they realized there might be more than a friendship in store. Tyler asked Elyssa on a first date and together they explored Wagon Hill Farm, a local outdoorsy spot in Durham, NH, while getting to know one another better. It was that same day that Elyssa realized Tyler made her smile like no one else ever had. They continued spending time together that spring, making things official in March of 2015. At the end of the school year, they went home to their respective towns but continued to spend the weekends together meeting each other's families and friends, going to Red Sox games, and spending time relaxing at Tyler's brother's house on Lake Maspenock in Hopkinton, MA. When the Fall came around, Tyler and Elyssa couldn't wait to get back to school, where they'd be able to see each other all the time. Fast forward to May 2016, Tyler graduated and found out that the saying "distance makes the heart grow fonder" really was true. Despite the distance between them, Elyssa and Tyler continued spending weekends together up at UNH as well as back home in Hopkinton. Elyssa joined Tyler in the "real world" in 2017 and upon finishing graduate school in 2020, Elyssa moved in with Tyler and his brothers in Hopkinton. In August of 2020, the two realized that they couldn't live with Tyler's family forever (despite Tyler's wishes), and bought their very own house on Lake Maspenock. In 2021 Elyssa convinced Tyler that they NEEDED a dog, so mid-pandemic they flew to Virginia to pick up an 8-week-old Vizsla puppy, Whiskey, who made their family whole. 2021 was filled with many puppy adventures (and sleepless nights), learning to be home-owners, parties at the lake, and most importantly, lots of laughter and love. 2022 rolled around and Elyssa couldn't help but wonder if year 7 would finally be the year Tyler proposed. FINALLY, on June 10th, during a trip to UNH/Portsmouth, Tyler popped the question on Thompson Hall Lawn, with Whiskey by his side of course. 8 years later, Elyssa and Tyler are looking forward to spending forever together! Thank you all for being a part of our story along the way!
