Just 15 minutes from our venue & White Plains is the small-town romance book worthy -- Tarrytown. The downtown area features unique shops, restaurants, and a lively atmosphere. You can also take a walk along the Hudson Riverwalk which offers magnificent views stretching to the Manhattan skyline.
Just above Tarrytown is the village known internationally through "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow", an 1820 short story by Washington Irving about the local area and its infamous specter, the Headless Horseman. Owing to "The Legend", as well as the village's roots in early American history and folklore, Sleepy Hollow is considered by some to be one of the "most haunted places in the world." While in Sleepy Hollow, you can visit the Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Kykuit - home to 4 generations of Rockefellers, or even the headless horseman bridge & statue!
Looking to get out of NY already? Well, less than 30 minutes away from White Plains is Stamford, Connecticut! Here, you can find Stamford Museum & Nature Center where you can picnic on the Meadow, walk over 80 acres of nature trails, drop in to the Heckscher Farm and say hello to the animals, and visit their little river otters, Sadie & Ron (Fun Fact: Lester loves otters lol). If you find yourself bored before the wedding, they also have a farmer's market that runs from 10am-2pm!
In just under an hour, you can travel from White Plains to the beautiful Grand Central Station which places you smack dab in the middle of Manhattan (New York, New York babyyy!!). From there, you can ride the subway or hail a taxi and go wherever your little heart desires! If you need any recs, please reach out! To put them all on this page, would be crazy. (Shoutout to our photographer for the stunning Central Park pic)
