We met the summer before our final year of law school, thanks to a mutual friend who invited us to a happy hour at the Kerryman. Elvira almost did not go, and Patrick showed up an hour later—but somehow, we ended up sitting next to each other and spent the evening completely lost in conversation. And that conversation never really ended. Since then, our relationship has grown through shared meals, karaoke duets, a house we made a home, mismatched calendars, walks with our dog Riley, long flights, longer runs, and plenty of laughter. Threaded throughout these day-to-day moments were ones that took our breath away. One of these came in Barcelona, where—at a quiet overlook in Parc Güell—Patrick proposed. Despite the crowds, it felt like the world paused for just the two of us. We have found so much joy in simply sharing every chapter of life together.
