Travel Note
We highly recommend flying in Liberia Airport (LIR) - Our wedding planner will provide services to assist in coordinating travel to and from the airport. Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) in San Jose is the main airport in Costa Rica but it is about a 5 hour drive so please book flights carefully!

Travel Note
1,000 Colones = about $2 It's a great idea to have colones on you if you are out and about but almost everywhere in Tamarindo takes US dollars and credit cards. April in Tamarindo is hot and mostly dry, with the potential for occasional afternoon showers, especially towards the end of the month, as it transitions from the dry to the rainy season. It will be hot and humid so be sure to pack accordingly :) Tipping is not customary in Costa Rica. By law, establishments automatically charge a 10% service fee. You can leave an additional tip if you'd like to, but it is not expected. Tap water in Tamarindo is generally safe to drink! Ubers work just like in the US with one exception: Ubers cannot pick you up at the airport due to taxi driver unions. Ubers can drop you off at the airport, though. Airport taxis are orange with clear taxi markings on the side of the vehicle. As you exit the airport terminal, you will find taxi company representatives offering you a ride. Make sure the taximeter is reset before the start of the ride.
