Welcome to Our Happily Ever After!

In April, we went to Jamaica together and stayed at a Sandals Resort. After a few days in paradise enjoying the beach and sun, Kenny told me that a picture he took for Instagram had won the Sandals photo contest, and that he got a free private beach dinner. On April 19th, we got dressed (I told him I was not doing my hair, and because he didn't want to spoil anything he said that was fine) and a resort employee picked us up at our room and took us to the private beach where our dinner would be. It was so pretty with candles, nice chairs, white linens, and an ocean view of the sunset. When the waitress brought us bread, she leaned down to fix the table cloth, apparently leaving a ring box for Kenny! She then grabbed Kenny's phone to take a "picture" and started recording. Kenny told me he had NOT won the dinner, got down on one knee, and asked me to be his wife! I immediately started crying so all I could do was nod, which led to a nervous Kenny looking up and saying "I can't hear you!" After a dinner that mostly consisted of me looking at my hand and saying OH MY GOSH, we walked to a beach party where my parents were, and we got pulled up on stage to announce our engagement! It was a perfect night with the perfect guy!

After a year of wedding planning, and with 6 days to go until we tied the knot, we made the difficult decision to cancel our wedding due to Covid-19. We spent all night calling guests, emailing venues, and trying to plan for a rapidly changing future. With the world so crazy around us, we got married in a very small ceremony at the Holcomb’s home on March 21st. Our first year+ of marriage has involved navigating work from home, a pandemic, buying a home, and so much more. March 21, 2020 was nearly a perfect day. We were able to exchange vows and rings, share our love with a few close relatives and friends, and become husband and wife. However, it’s hard to remember that day without thinking about who COULDN’T be there due to the circumstances. That’s why we’re so excited to renew our vows and celebrate in 2022 with everyone we love!
