The site is amazing and one of the biggest historic preservation projects in the world. There is so much to do and see in the area, such as walking, shopping, dining and demonstrational learning. We suggest visiting the Governor's Palace and the Capitol! Take a tour of the Governor's Palace where we got enagaged!
A must visit if you like nature and history. This place is near and dear to Amanda, who interned here Summer 2024 and loved every moment. Historic Jamestowne has some of the best views in the area, as well as extensive and informative walking paths! This is a great place to learn more about the early history of Virginia as well as archeology. About a 15 minute drive from Colonial Williamsburg, located at the very end of the island. Note: there are two Jamestowns, make sure you go to the original which is past the replica!
This is Elliot's alma mater! Check out the oldest continous use college building (the Wren Building) and the famous Sunken Gardens. The College is a great place for a walk day or night. We loved taking walks around campus while Amanda interned at Jamestown!
A William and Mary staple and an Elliot undergrad favorite! Good spot for a hearty sandwich and some nice wine and cheese.
Great museum with interesting artifacts and art. The galleries are expansive and contain amazing pieces from 17th-19th century. Fun place for historic art, architecture and furniture enthusiasts. Great way to spend a few hours!
