Great towns for a day trip into the mountains. Both are ~30 mins from Denver and have great restaurants, shops and hiking (and aspen leaf peeping!)

Idaho Springs & Evergreen

Open during the day for hiking and visiting the concert venue.

Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre

Botanic gardens with nature trails, wildflowers, and bird watching. Great for kids- the pumpkin patch & corn maze will be open!
