Like any great modern love story, this one began with Kade sending a “Hey, want to get dinner?” Snapchat to Ellie after never having met in person. Little did Ellie know, Kade's mom, Holiday, had been searching for a girl for Kade. After looking through the athletic rosters at the University of New Mexico, she landed on Ellie’s roster photo and insisted that Kade take her on a date. So there it began, a blind date in Albuquerque, New Mexico (what could go wrong?). Kade was a true gentleman, despite a couple of hiccups in the first few minutes, and they shared a “half-price pizookie Tuesday” at BJ’s. Both knew they wanted to see each other again. (Kade would like to make a special note that in order to redeem himself from the first interaction, he took Ellie to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse on their second date) From that day on, they spent all of their spare time together in between the chaos of soccer and football practices. They got good at making their own fun and encouraging each other through the tough days. They spent an amazing two and a half years together in Albuquerque, before Kade decided he was desperate to get back to the beach and transfer to Chapman for his last year of school. He did not leave without making sure that Ellie knew he wanted to spend forever with her, and he gave her a ring. She said yes, obviously. They are now both living in Orange, California and can't wait to start their future together! Here is to a lifetime of laughter, adventure, and happiness.
