Gabe & Ellie's Philly Scavenger Hunt

Gabe & Ellie's Philly Scavenger Hunt

1601 Moyamensing Street, Philadelphia, PA 19148

Recreate our engagement day scavenger hunt! Click "View" below for a document with all the clues, and spend a few hours biking to our favorite Philly spots. Pick up a rental bike near our home in South Philly and end in the iconic Love Park.

City Hall Visitor Center

City Hall Visitor Center

1 South Penn Square, Philadelphia, PA 19107
, (267) 514-4757

Philadelphia City Hall is the largest municipal building in the country, and Ellie's favorite Philly tourist destination. We recommend reserving tickets in advance for a panoramic view of the city from the tower.

Philadelphia Museum of Art

Philadelphia Museum of Art

2600 Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Philadelphia, PA 19130
, (215) 763-8100

No trip to Philadelphia is complete without a visit to the Rocky Steps (and the Philadelphia Museum of Art, where they are located).

The Mütter Museum at The College of Physicians of Philadelphia

The Mütter Museum at The College of Physicians of Philadelphia

19 South 22nd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103
, (215) 560-8564

America's finest museum of medical history, the Mütter Museum displays its beautifully preserved collections of anatomical specimens, models, and medical instruments in a nineteenth-century "cabinet museum" setting. We love this spot so much, we almost picked it as our wedding venue. Definitely worth a visit!

Wagner Free Institute of Science

Wagner Free Institute of Science

1700 West Montgomery Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19121
, (215) 763-6529

Discover Wagner Free Institute of Science, where little has changed but the century! Gabe's favorite museum in Philadelphia, and the location of several early dates for us.

Wissahickon Valley Park

Wissahickon Valley Park

Valley Green Road, Philadelphia, PA 19128
, (215) 247-0417

One of our favorite spots to take the dog for a walk. A beautiful, huge park that takes you immediately out of the city.

Mount Moriah Cemetery

Mount Moriah Cemetery

6201 Kingsessing Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19142

Huge, largely abandoned cemetery on the city’s western border. Likely to see deer and maybe a fox or two roaming around the overgrown graves. Check out the apiary!

K'Far Cafe

K'Far Cafe

110 South 19th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103
, (267) 800-7200

Great Israeli bakery a block and a half from Rittenhouse Square. Weird (good weird) flattened bagels, and very rich pastries and toasts.

Uncle Bobbie's Coffee & Books

Uncle Bobbie's Coffee & Books

5445 Germantown Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19144
, (215) 403-7058

A Black-owned bookstore and coffee shop in the heart of Germantown. I have never left this place without either a book, coffee, or baked good.

Ba Le Bakery

Ba Le Bakery

606 Washington Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19147
, (215) 389-4350

Gabe and Ellie’s favorite Banh Mi place. Try Ellie’s choice - the BBQ Pork (#4). Gabe’s choice is the Lemongrass Beef (#8).

Musi BYOB

Musi BYOB

100 Morris Street, Philadelphia, PA 19148
, (215) 377-9466

Formerly an usual farm-to-table BYO , now homebase for Frizwit, bar-none the city’s best cheesesteak.

Center City Pretzel Co

Center City Pretzel Co

816 Washington Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19147
, (215) 463-5664

Not in Center City, but definitely a pretzel company. One of the city’s best independent pretzel makers. Weird hours, but worth figuring out a visit.

Tattooed Mom

Tattooed Mom

530 South Street, Philadelphia, PA 19147
, (215) 238-9880

A technicolor dive bar, with toys on the tables, graffiti and wheatpaste on the walls, neon drinks, and great bar food (Also, vegan friendly!).

Molly's Books & Records

Molly's Books & Records

1010 South 9th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19147
, (215) 923-3367

One of Gabe's favorite record and book shops, and a great place to get distracted when you're looking for cheap produce in the Italian Market.
