We are taking precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19 at our wedding, including following the mandate from thr City of Philadelphia for mask wearing by all attendees when indoors. Weather permitting, all wedding activities will take place outdoors, and guests will only need to mask up to enter the Cope House for restrooms. We met in the fall of 2015, in our first semester in the Masters of Social Work program at University of Pennsylvania. Ellie thought Gabe was cute and sweet. Gabe thought Ellie touched too many faces, but was also intrigued by this proactive greeting technique. We shared a friend circle but never a class and were both in and out of other relationships throughout the program. We didn't stay in touch after graduation, but reconnected when Ellie super-liked Gabe on Tinder (!!) in January 2018. After nearly six months of rainy walks on beaches and in cemeteries, loving post card exchanges, and City Wide Specials in dive bars, Ellie and Gabe went on their first official date on July 21, 2018. Gabe adopted Verna a few months later, and the next year the three of us moved in to our South Philly home. We proposed to each other on September 5, 2020 when Ellie planned a historically inspired scavenger hunt around the city and Gabe presented Ellie with a book of love poems and a ring. We commemorated the occasion with City Wide Specials at our favorite dive bar, New Wave Cafe.
