It all began in January 2025, when a Hinge match brought Dedan and Ellie into each other’s lives. After a few days of easy conversation, they met for drinks at The Albert in Inman Park. What was meant to be a simple first date quickly felt like something more—full of laughter, warmth, and an easy familiarity. At one point, Dedan jokingly suggested their second date should take place at the DeKalb County Landfill. Ellie didn’t mind the location; she was simply glad he was already thinking about seeing her again. What began as a first date soon became a life shared. Along the way, they traveled for weddings, crossed the country on adventures, returned to their alma maters for gamedays (with a lively Ole Miss–Georgia debate always close at hand), and found joy in the ordinary moments that quietly brought them closer.   Throughout their story, the Lord’s faithfulness has been a steady presence. His timing, patience, and provision shaped their paths long before they met and continued to guide them as their relationship grew. Long before they met, so many who loved them had prayed for their awaited partner. In every season—joyful, ordinary, and unexpected—they saw His hand at work, gently leading them toward one another.   On November 29, 2025, at 10:30 in the morning, Dedan proposed in Savannah’s Madison Square. Without realizing it, he chose Ellie’s favorite square—a small but meaningful reminder that God had been present in every detail.   She said yes, of course.   Dedan and Ellie are so grateful and cannot wait to celebrate the beginning of this next chapter with all of you.
