Do I need access to a car?

Answer

Yes! It is a 2+ hour drive from the airport to Port Townsend. You will either need to rent a car at the Seattle-Tacoma Airport or hop in with someone else who already has one.

Should I take the ferry to get to Port Townsend?

Answer

If you are traveling on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, or are on any sort of timeline (ie. getting to the airport) DO NOT take the ferry, take the direct driving route instead. The ferries are really beautiful and lovely but on summer weekends can have very long lines. More info on the Travel & Lodging page.
