This would be our recommended airport for out of state guests as it is approx. 58 miles to Fallbrook and Oceanside, CA. If choosing not to rent a car, from the San Diego Airport you can take the MTS Bus Route (992) from the Airport to Santa Fe Train Station. From there you can either take the COASTER (purchase the $12 day pass when boarding the 992), or the AMTRAK Pacific Surfliner, which will take Checked Luggage and has a bar car. This trip is about 1.5 hours.

From there take the Orange County Line to Oceanside Station. Once at Oceanside Station take an uber, Lyft or Taxi to your hotel or Airbnb. Option 2 - via Amtrak: Take bus from John Wayne Airport to Santa Ana Station or Irvine Station. From there take the Amtrak Pacific Surfliner to Oceanside Station. Once at Oceanside Station take an uber, Lyft or Taxi to your hotel or Airbnb. This trip is about 2 hours.

Los Angeles International Airport

105 miles to Fallbrook, CA 1 World Way, Los Angeles, CA 90045 We highly recommend renting a car if you choose to fly into LAX. However, if you choose not to rent a car, you can take the FlyAway bus from LAX to Union Station in downtown LA and then the Amtrak train to Oceanside. This trip is about 3.5 hours.
