Ely Community Resources provides the Ely youth community with year-round activities, largely free of charge. ECR has become a very important part of our lives, with Kaydence’s transition to the Ely school system. Kaydence was immediately welcomed by ECR and has joined several of its programs. This August, she has an upcoming camping trip to the BWCA through ECR! ECR has helped make Ely home to Kaydence and we are so grateful to the organization and the wonderful people who volunteer and work for it!

Northern Lakes Arts Association makes many contributions to the Ely arts community across all mediums; our favorite are the plays and musicals performed year-round. NLAA also played an important role in Kaydence’s move to Ely. Her first week in town, she attended a week-long summer art camp. We have some of her art pieces from this week hanging around our home and Kaydence received a warm introduction to the Ely arts community.

Protecting the Boundary Waters is important to us. Save the Boundary Waters was formed to permanently protect the Boundary Waters from the imminent threat of sulfide-ore copper mining.
