Question

Where will the wedding ceremony and reception be held?

Answer

Both the wedding ceremony and reception will be held in the ballrooms at the Kimpton Cardinal Hotel at 51 4th Street E, Winston-Salem, North Carolina 27101.

What is the time line for the wedding?

Answer

The ceremony will take place at 4pm on Saturday March 29th in the Lexington Ballroom at the Cardinal Kimpton. Please plan to arrive prior to the ceremony, seating will open around 3:15-3:30pm. We will have a cocktail hour from 4:30 - 5:30 pm, followed by a plated dinner and reception starting at 5:30 pm. All of these events will take place on the same floor in the ballrooms of the Kimpton Cardinal hotel.

What’s parking like at the venue?

Answer

There are several options available for parking. There is valet parking ($26/night) which can be added on to your room charge. There are also multiple parking garages surrounding the venue that are more cost effective. Our preferred garage is the 4th Street-Church garage (455 N Church St, Winston-Salem, NC 27101). The pricing is highly reasonable - typically $2/weekday and is free on the weekends. This garage is located one block directly behind the hotel. The only downside is there is a slight uphill walk to the entrance of the hotel, so for guests with luggage, it may be easier to drop off at the front door of the hotel, then park behind it in the garage. There is another parking garage next to the Kimpton (296 N Main St Parking) - public parking entrance on the chestnut street side, which may cost up to $16/day. Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes, we request semi formal dress for the ceremony. The dress code for the welcome event at Incendiary is casual. For the rehearsal dinner - we would request business casual (dresses, slacks, button down shirts)

What is hotel check in time?

Answer

For those staying at the Cardinal Kimpton, the check in time is 4pm. They may be able to provide earlier check in depending on availability - feel free to call ahead if you need to check in earlier to see if they are able to accomodate! For those staying at the Kimpton, the hotel will be providing you a welcome bag at check in as well as a complimentary glass of champagne! Please be sure to tell them you are with the Sockman-Nagy wedding at check in (we tried to cross check our list with the staff but just in case!) For those who are not staying at the Kimpton, we will get welcome bags available at the welcome event at Incendiary and any left overs can be picked up at the ceremony as well :)

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We love your children, but we want our wedding to be your night off! We ask this remain an adults only (21+) occasion.
