Sister and Maid of Honor
We complete each other’s sentences, slay at charades when on the same team, know exactly how the other is feeling by the sound of her voice, and love each other more than words could ever explain. Stories are my passion, and Hana Banana’s will always be my favorite. There’s an early chapter where she befriended a ladybug, christened it Frederick, and housed it in a matchbox. Although Frederick died soon after, this chapter still warms my heart. It was a nascent display of her enduring love and hopefulness which have grown immeasurably since. I wouldn't be the woman I am today without our sisterhood.
Best Man
When I first met Kevin at Brown, I thought wow…big muscles. I quickly observed how he excels in all spheres of life; he is down-to-earth, warm-hearted, wise-like-Yoda, and a humble hunk. This tremendous and understanding guy is my best friend. I’m very lucky to have had years of heart-to-hearts, matching outerwear that one winter, and hours of chess play with him, and it’s made me a better man! My only wish is that he will grow to like my hugs.
Bridesmaid
This beloved friend once found me knee-deep in a puddle. I was absentmindedly walking along after a torrential downpour when I realized that my rain boots were below sea-level and taking on water. Michelle, like a first-responder, drove up to me as close as she could in her massive SUV. When she rolled down her window, I found her pointing and laughing hysterically. With Michelle, I learned that the life we’ve been given is full of humor despite seasonal flooding. Thanks for saving me from the depths of that freak puddle and helping me laugh for as long as we’ve known each other!
Groomsman
I first got to know Richard during our college senior year, and I could quickly tell that he had a caring heart and a leader’s mind for those around him. Despite how odd my young behaviors were, Richard accepted me wholeheartedly, and I still feel his brotherly love to this day. His warmth still gives me the comfort to open up and have our beloved heart-to-hearts. Fun fact: I am honored to be a groomsman for Richard’s wedding on 6/19/21!
Bridesmaid
The gentlest human I’ve ever had the pleasure of befriending. She is the furthest thing from aggressive unless we pull out a board game. I love that her imagination and reality sometimes blur, especially when it comes to animals. She could not (and may still not) confidently discern whether narwhals, giraffes, and unicorns are fantasy or real. However, she remembers what I was wearing on the first day we met. There may not be room for Zebras, but Irene gives the people in her life so much of her heart. I am fortunate to be counted as one of those people.
Groomsman
When I first saw David, I was immediately drawn to his kind eyes and welcoming demeanor. We hit it off early in our college years and have made crazy memories that we have fun reliving whenever we can. David has an infectious energy that brings out excitement in anything! I am excited to make even more memories that will add countless hours of laughter with my soon-to-be physician brother!
Bridesmaid
As her tutor, our relationship began through the SAT’s but evolved to include every possible facet of life. I have, ironically, learned much more than I could have ever taught! Her tenacity is unmatched. Life can throw her a dried up lemon, and she will take the seed to grow the tree and make some lemonade. In pursuit of her and her loved ones’ happiness, she will invest the time and energy, brave the unknown, complete the grunt work, and more. I am stronger today because of what I continue to witness in her and so are many others!
Groomsman
I first met Billy in elementary school during our wee childhood, and our best memories were made traversing Manhattan and Queens in the late hours! A fiercely loyal and steadfast BFF, Billy takes extensive care of his close friends and family. I am constantly inspired by his character and am lucky to be called his lifelong friend as well!
