We met at church in 2016. On his first Sunday with us, he accidentally joined the praise team of which I unexpectedly became the new leader. For different reasons, we both looked as confused as can be. - Ellen I met Ellen while visiting her church in Westchester, NY. I saw her singing for worship and still clearly remember asking myself: “Wow, is this what an angel looks like?” - Matt
I got into her car assuming I would listen to classical music and Disney playlists, but she turned on hip hop and R&B. She began to dance in her creative fashion, and that was one of the first times we laughed together. A group of us went to a local taqueria for Matt’s birthday. We all ordered the usual tacos and burritos, but he ordered a shrimp cocktail. Although I’m sure it was delicious, his dish looked very unusual next to ours. I noticed more delightfully unusual things thereafter.

Matt is tenderhearted, principled, and faithful in all his pursuits, but his most fun trait is that he is unpredictable without being a mystery. Ellen is innocent, kind-hearted, and welcomes anyone with open arms. Her creative and quirky nature allows her to make the most fun out of any situation or circumstance.
Parasailing over the Delaware waters! In the airy silence and higher than seagulls, it was simply the world and the two of us holding onto each other in the calmest manner. Such a peaceful memory where we were able to meditate whilst smiling at each other. - Matt PARASAILING! It was clarifying to look down and see things from a different perspective. However, 500 ft in the air, I realized that Matt has acrophobia - fear of heights. He planned this activity to create an unforgettable memory. Trembling and gripping his ropes with life-and-death purpose, Matt achieved his goal. It’s a day I’ll fondly remember for years to come. - Ellen
