Soekarno Hatta International Airport Jakarta (CGK)

If you're traveling from overseas or outside of Jakarta, we can assist with you transportation to and from Jakarta Soekarno Hatta International Airport (CGK). Email dreamscomelieu@gmail.com or text Ellen and/or Jason for transportation need by August 15, 2019. If you are coming from San Diego, Japan Airlines and ANA are the 2 airline carrier we have tried. Other than SAN, Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is your closest airport option. One idea is to rent a car from San Diego, and drop it off at LAX (and vice versa) in case uber is too expensive. For flight comparison, we utilize skyscanner.com. (others: hipmunk.com, momondo.com, traveloka.com for indonesia domestic flight)

Travel Note

Tourist Visa - not needed

You do NOT need tourist visa to come to Indonesia if you are US citizen and/or Singapore citizen. Ignore the Visa On Arrival sign and proceed to custom after you land.

Taxi & RideShare

Around Jakarta, Grab application is your uber equivalent. Uber nor Lyft is available. For taxi, I recommend Blue Bird Taxi group. They have a "mybluebird" app that I would recommend to call a taxi (aside from hailing or calling). Check both application for fare comparison. Tips: Check the vehicle license plate prior to entering the vehicle. Note: Silver bird is also a part of Blue Bird taxi group. Silver Bird provides more expensive vehicle than normal blue bird taxi.

Phone Service

If T-mobile is your phone carrier, T-mobile provides free international phone service to Indonesia. AT&T and Verizon provides international plan. Please check with your carrier on the different plans available. SIM card purchase is available in Terminal 3 CGK airport. Once you are done with custom, you will see stores such as Alfa Cellular or DATA Cellular where you can purchase SIM card. If you are coming from Terminal 2, DATA Cellular shop is available on the left side after baggage collection.

Phone Applications

Delivery services available: Go-Food App is for food delivery 24 hours. I personally love this app : ) Go-Glam App is for beauty services such as at-hotel massage, mani/pedi, blow out, etc. Go-Jek App is what started it all where you can also hail transportation via the app although I have yet to personally try Go-jek for my transportation need. Whatsapp Messenger: if you do not have iMessage, whatsapp messenger is the app used to communicate largely in Asia. I am on whatsapp messenger as well. Whatsapp provides the ability to send message as well as phone call to fellow whatsapp messenger users.
