National Museum

If you want to find out more about Indonesia's heritage and history, national museum can be fun to stroll around in.

Taman Mini Indonesia Indah

Indonesia has more than 17,500 islands. Taman Mini provides more insight around different cultures (there are a LOT of them). Keep in mind that it is outdoor so dress and prep accordingly. For more information, check out their website.

Grand Indonesia

From shopping, food, movie theater, supermarket - this is my go-to mall growing up. From luxurious brand shopping, great restaurants, or tea time places, this mall has it all.

Taman Anggrek Mall

Considered Jakarta’s (and even Indonesia’s) largest, Taman Anggrek Mall (locally referred to as Mal Taman Anggrek, or ‘MTA’ for short) spans 360,000sqm, with over 500 shops spread throughout seven levels. Snugly surrounded by eight residential towers, MTA is where you can find Indonesia’s largest indoor ice skating arena, Sky Rink, as well as 10 exhibition areas and a vast central atrium where events and concerts are held. The mall also holds the world record for its longest LED display, which you can admire upon approaching the building along Jalan Letjen S. Parman.

Plaza Senayan

This is another weekend destination growing up in South Jakarta. My favorite restaurant here: Remboelan; for indonesian food. Fondly referred to by Jakartans as ‘PS’ for short, Plaza Senayan offers a well-rounded collection of shops that mostly cater to the modern lifestyle with many international luxury brands. With its great selection of restaurants, it is a favourite go-to place for lunch among business people in Central Jakarta. Although Plaza Senayan might not be large if compared to Jakarta’s other grand malls, it does feature a refined, high-class appeal. A cinema - Plaza Senayan XXI - is onsite and features the latest Hollywood premieres.

Used to be residence turned restaurant. My brother's school friend used to own this house prior to the restaurant. Highly recommended for indo food.
