Laura and Erik grew up in Bridgeport, NY, and were classmates in first grade. The two always ran in the same circle of friends but were never more than that. After graduation in 2014, the bride and groom lost touch and continued on their own separate journey - Laura attending Niagara University and Erik entering the workforce. In March 2017, while Laura was on Spring Break in Florida, Erik slid into her DM's casually asking where she was because he "had family in the area." An innocent message to catch up with an old friend turned into a never-ending conversation. After many months of "talking," Laura finally agreed to go on a date with Erik. The new couple spent every day together that summer until Laura had to return to Niagara University for her senior year. That December, Laura and Erik moved in together and adopted Ralph - the rest is history! From first-grade classmates to husband and wife.
Laura was under the impression that they were going to the park to kick-start Ralph's birthday weekend. After a game of fetch, the couple watched the sunset in the same park where they "officially" started dating back in June of 2017. While taking in the views, a bird pooped on Laura's shirtsleeve, setting the perfect scene and breaking the ice for Erik. He told Laura that allegedly getting pooped on by a bird is good luck, and for us, it definitely was. As Erik continued to tell Laura about how he'd choose her every day, some of Laura's best friends emerged from behind the trees, recording this special moment. After almost six years of dating, Erik got down on one knee, and Laura said, "YES!" We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you!
