We hope that you are staying well during these challenging times. Considering the present restrictions in Illinois surrounding COVID-19, we have decided to cancel our wedding celebration as planned. We will be moving forward with a marriage ceremony and small dinner reception surrounded by immediate family, and are heartbroken to be taking this step without each of you present. While this conclusion was painful for both of us, we feel truly blessed to be facing the uncertainty of this world with your love and support. Each of you have affirmed our support system as we prepare to begin our lives together, a precious gift and perfect beginning to our marriage. We will take our vows on September 5th with comfort that each of you will be present in thought, prayer and spirit. The Elle & Trevor Love Story began at the University of Rochester, where Trevor was an MBA student on the football coaching staff, and Elle was an undergraduate swimmer. One cold Rochester night, Trevor and Elle both found themselves at an off-campus house known as “512”. As most know, Trevor always abides by the rules, so when one of his senior players told him Elle was an undergrad, and therefore off limits for "Coach Terp", he was hooked. That night, Elle took Trevor’s credit card (for Mex margaritas) and his heart. During their time at the U of R, Elle and Trevor worked hard to keep their secret relationship under the radar, often avoiding eye contact in public, or pretending to be strangers at the Athletic Center or the local Wegmans. All of their clandestine behavior was worthwhile when after receiving their respective degrees they took a big leap of faith and moved to the NYC metro area to start their careers together. The Proposal Fast forward to 2019, after 6 years of dating, the purchase of a house and the adoption of a puppy (Rye); Trevor finally worked up the nerve to make Elle an honest woman. On a beautiful morning in August, with the help of friends and family, Trevor convinced Elle to wake up early and take a walk with their dog Rye in a nearby park. In Waveny Castle’s garden Trevor, shaking and sweating, got down on one knee to pop the question. Spoiler alert...SHE SAID YES! The "Downsized" Big Day Due to the global pandemic, an unprecedented hurdle in any love story, Trevor and Elle's "Big Day" day will look very different than originally planned. Nonetheless, Trevor and Elle could not be more excited to celebrate the next step in their journey, and look forward to celebrating with each of you in their own special way in the future.
