Question

Do I need a visa to visit Canada?

Answer

Yes! you need a Canadian eTA if you are travelling on a British passport. It takes 72 hours to process, is £8.63 and valid for 5 years. You can use the following link to apply: https://apply.joinsherpa.com/products?passport=GBR&destinations=CAN&affiliateId=sherpa

Question

Where is the ceremony taking place? What should I wear?

Answer

If weather cooperates, we will be married outside at Canmore Ranch! Guests are welcome to layer up with jackets and boots as there will likely be snow this time of year (in 2021 the weather ranged from 7 to -13°C the week our wedding will be). There will be a few hours between the ceremony and reception where guests will have a chance to return to their rooms and get dressed up for the evening.

Question

Where is the reception taking place? What should I wear?

Answer

Our reception will be at Cornerstone Theatre. It is just a 2min drive or 15min walk from Canmore Ranch! Our dress code could be classified as formal/cocktail. Long dresses or short dresses are both appropriate as well as suit and tie, but feel free to dress as you feel comfortable!

Question

Can I wear black?

Answer

We've been asked this a few times! You are absolutely welcome to wear black, especially as it is a winter wedding :)

Question

Do I need a National Parks pass?

Answer

You don't need the pass to enter Canmore, but you will need a pass if you'd like to enter Banff and surrounding national parks (this includes if you want to go skiing). The daily rate can be paid at the gate and is $10.50/person or $21/vehicle. If you will be spending a week or longer visiting the national parks, it is more economical to get a discovery pass that lets you visit unlimited times in one year. This would cost $75.25/adult or $145.25/vehicle.
