Our Happily Ever After

We’ve actually known of each other for a long time — our families went to the same church, so we’d always bump into each other at events and exchange a quick “hey,” but that was pretty much it. Fast forward to 2020 — peak Covid days. He was 15, I was 16, and like most teens stuck at home, we were surviving off of Snapchat and FaceTime. On March 25th 2020, I randomly asked him over Snapchat if he wanted to FaceTime... we ended up talking, laughing, singing, and being total goofballs for seven hours straight. Little did we know that call would be the start of our forever. From that day on, we’ve been cheering each other on through every baseball game, every cheer competition, and every season of life. We’ve truly grown up together — through high school, college, vacations, new adventures, and even the heartbreak of losing loved ones. Every experience has only made our bond stronger. I’d always dreamed of getting married young, but I never imagined just how perfect our story would be. On our family cruise to Alaska, he completely surprised me. He’d planned everything with my family (even my dad, who can’t keep a secret to save his life!). He told me we were taking anniversary photos, and when the photographer asked me to turn around for a pose, I spun back around to find him down on one knee. It was the easiest “yes” of my life. We’re so grateful to have grown up side by side, building an unbreakable bond that feels more like fate than coincidence. We’re truly each other’s best friend, biggest supporter, and soulmate — and we can’t wait to spend forever together.
