The Sistine Chapel is worth the wait. -Palatine Hill-Climb this iconic hill for panoramic views of the Roman Forum and city. -Spanish Steps-Climb this iconic staircase and explore the surrounding area, known for its fashion boutiques and cafes. (Don't grab roses from anyone unless you want to pay-they're not for free. Traditional Roman Foods to try: -Pasta all'Amatriciana-made from bucatini pasta (resembles a straw), guanciale (pork cheek), tomatoes, pecorino. (Lizz's personal Rome favorite) -Spaghetti carbonara-is a pasta dish made with fatty cured pork, hard cheese, eggs, salt, and black pepper. (Zach's personal Rome favorite) -Cacio e pepe-The dish contains grated pecorino romano and black pepper with tonnarelli or spaghetti.
-Duomo (Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore)-Visit the iconic cathedral and climb Brunelleschi's Dome for panoramic city views. -Accademia Gallery-See Michelangelo's David and other Florentine paintings. -Ponte Vecchio-Cross the historic bridge adorned with shops and enjoy the views of the Arno River. -Piazzale Michelangelo-Enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of Florence, especially at sunset. Traditional Florence Food: -Bistecca alla Fiorentina-This is arguably the most famous Florentine dish. It's a large T-bone steak, typically from the Chianina breed of cattle, grilled and served rare. (we ordered ours medium rare.) -Ribollita-A hearty Tuscan soup made with stale bread, beans, and vegetables. (stale bread means croutons.) -All'Antico Vinaio-famous and viral Florence sandwich-it doesn't disappoint, and is made exceptional ingredients and freshly baked Tuscan schiacciata bread. (The one is NYC is not as good.)
