If you've never visited Grounds for Sculpture, definitely consider it while you're in town! It's a beautiful outdoor sculpture garden and arboretum and has always been one of our favorite places to explore in NJ. Located in Hamilton, NJ and super close to the venue/hotel.
Beautiful nature center located right in Hamilton, NJ. From their website: "The Tulpehaking Nature Center sits on the bluffs overlooking the Abbott Marshlands, steps away from the Delaware River’s northernmost tidal freshwater marsh and 3,000 acres of diverse landscape providing homes for numerous plants and animals, including wild rice, cattails, river otters and beavers. It lies within the Abbott Farm National Historic Landmark, one of the most significant archaeological sites in the Mid-Atlantic states, representing 13,000 years of human history in the Delaware River Valley. Tulpehaking is a Lenape word meaning 'Land of the Turtle,' signifying the region’s rich legacy of Native American culture and history, a land that remains important to the Lenape people today."
Right next to Hamilton and Chesterfield, Bordentown is a quaint, historical town. Take a walking tour or visit their local antiquarian bookshop, The Old Book Shop of Bordentown (see the bookshop's hours at www.oldbookshopofbordentown.com).
