Yes! We will have shuttles running from the Residence Inn in Hamilton to Fernbrook Farms before the wedding, and back to the Residence Inn towards the end. For getting to the venue, there will be 3 shuttles running to and from the Residence Inn in Hamilton. There will be a 30 person shuttle boarding at 4:15 and leaving the hotel at 4:30 on the dot, a 14 person shuttle leaving whenever it's full, and another pickup with the 30 person shuttle at 5:00. For getting back to the Residence Inn we will have a 30 person shuttle leaving the venue at 10:00, and a final trip back from the venue when the reception ends at 11:00. The final shuttle will also then be going to Killarney's Pub in Hamilton for the after party!
Of course! It's at Killarney's Pub in Hamilton from 11:30-2:00. The final shuttle will be be heading there after stopping at the hotel, but there isn't any return transportation planned. So we'll need to patch together some Ubers(pre-ordering might not be a bad idea...).
Nope, both will take place at Fernbrook Farms. The ceremony will be outdoors in the sundial garden, and the reception will be held in a tent next to the venue's historic inn. The inn's downstairs rooms—that include comfy chairs, fireplaces, and a pool table—will also be open and available for wedding guests to hang out in.
Wear something special that makes you feel fabulous! More logistic concerns: Since we'll be getting married on soft grass, try to avoid stilettos/shoes that might be uncomfortable in that situation. Consider bringing sunglasses and a light layer just in case the changeable April weather turns sunny and/or chilly.
Yes! It's up to you whether you'd like to bring your kids, but we'd be delighted to celebrate with them.
After the ceremony, we'll have a cocktail hour during which passed hors d'oeuvres and drinks will be available. Dinner will be served family-style with shared serving plates at each table. We will have abundant vegetarian options in addition to omnivore options, and most of the vegetables will be sourced from Fernbrook Farms itself. The farm told us to expect lots of asparagus, since it seasonally grows on their farm in April.
When we chose to get married on a day in April, we knew rain might be a likely possibility. If it rains, the ceremony will take place in the reception tent. Fernbook Farms is also home to a historic inn whose downstairs rooms—that include sitting rooms, fireplaces, and a pool table—will be open for wedding guests whether it rains or not.
Residence Inn Marriott—where we've reserved a room block—is in Hamilton, NJ and is about a 10–13 minute drive from Fernbrook Farms in Chesterfield, NJ. We've been assured by the venue that finding Ubers/Lyfts in this area isn't difficult.
