How We Met

Her Story: Ross and I met online, as many couples do nowadays. Ross picked me up in his Jeep and things started smoothly. I remember when he got out of his car I was struck with how tall and handsome he was. This made me nervous...I didn't want to blow it! We went to Jillian's in Boston to bowl, but of course there were no lanes available for hours. So we went to the bar and had a drink. After Jillians we went to Solas restaurant on Boylston street. Ross ordered us a bunch of appetizers (my favorite, food!) and we talked for hours. The date was going REALLY well...that is until Ross drove me home. I lived on a one way street, and there was no where to pull over to let me out. I noticed that there was a car behind us and got very anxious that they would beep at us so I literally opened the door and started getting out before the car stopped moving! Of course Ross thought that this meant I did not like him, so I had to text him and explain myself the next day!

The Proposal

His Story: We had planned a trip to Switzerland in October and I knew it would be the perfect time to do it. I picked out a ring and then asked for Liz's fathers approval. Now I had to find a way to hide the ring through the airport. I didn't want to put it in my bag because you never know whats going to happen so I put it in my jacket. I made sure to keep my distance from Liz as we entered the security check. I didn't want anybody calling out that I had a ring in my pocket (Unlikely but who knows). On the plane ride I took my jacket off and bundled it in my lap. No issues. Despite the beautiful weather in Switzerland, I was forced to wear my winter jacket to keep the ring safe. As we were walking out the door for dinner, Liz tried to stuff her wallet in my pocket! I jumped back and grabbed it from her. She must've thought I was nuts but I played it off. The next morning was the day of the proposal. I wore my jacket hiking because I had to hold the ring somewhere that wasn't noticeable. Given it was another beautiful day that didn't require a jacket, I was sweating. We started the hike and after a couple hours we came to a crossroads with three separate trails. None of the signs had the trail we were looking for, so we just guessed based on the direction. We ended up doing a complete circle: I was nervous we might not make it to the top! We had to start over, and luckily we picked the right trail this time. It took another two hours to get to the spot were we wanted to be. We sat down, drank some water, took in the amazing views and started taking several photos of the scenery before I decided to pop the question. I thought it was the perfect time and place to do it since we were on a cliff. If she said no, I'd be walking down alone haha but all went well. She couldn't have been more excited and had no idea it was coming due to me being so calm cool and collected throughout the whole day. We headed back to celebrate and made it back before it was pitch black.

For all the days along the way
