Who knew that two truths and a lie could be the beginning for these two? Nick and Elizabeth met as many modern couples do... on a dating app! (Thanks, Hinge!) With Nick attending NC State, and Elizabeth down at UNC Chapel Hill, they likely would have never crossed paths otherwise. Nick's prompt of two truths and a lie got the conversation started, as Elizabeth hoped that "I've cut one of my fingers off" was the lie (spoiler alert: it was not). After texting back and forth for a few weeks, Elizabeth finally took the plunge and asked Nick to come out to Chapel Hill for her sorority's yearly "Heartbreakers" cocktail. Safe to say, no hearts were broken that night. Elizabeth and Nick split a fifth of tequila and ended up at the side of the bar chatting for most of the evening, bonding over family, friends, pets, and everything in between. A few months passed, and after more dinner dates, college parties, and trips to Costco, they decided to finally make their relationship official. Slowly, their lives began to intertwine more and more, until Elizabeth officially moved to Raleigh in early 2019. By 2020, they moved in to their first home together with their two dogs and cat, becoming a very chaotic family of five. Through COVID, many job changes, and the loss of Nick's mother Karen, they walked through both the good and bad parts of life together. Now, they are ready to take the next step and become husband and wife. Nick and Elizabeth look forward to celebrating with all of their loved ones, as moments like these are some of the best parts of life.
