Disney is located in Orlando and is approximately 2 to 2.5 hours from Jacksonville. Very easy drive! Elizabeth used to be a Disney Annual Passholder prior to the Covid-19 outbreak and is happy to assist with any further Disney questions.
Jacksonville is a large, very spread out city and has so much to offer. Although the wedding action will be taking place around Amelia Island/Fernandina Beach, if you want to explore more around the area like Jacksonville Beaches, St. Augustine (highly recommend), downtown Jacksonville, or even make a Buc-cee's run (if you know you know)... we recommend having a car. That being said Amelia Island has so many restaurants, coffee shops, bars, boutiques, public beach access, etc., all within walking or Uber/Lyft distance! All the hotels we suggested on our "Travel" page are in this same area and so is the reception venue.
St. Augustine is the oldest city in the United States, founded by Ponce de Leon in 1565, and happens to be a huge tourist attraction because of the rich history, beautiful Spanish colonial architecture, and amazing restaurants/bars. It's always a popular place to be but especially around Christmas when the "Nights of Lights" festival is happening. The Nights of Lights is an annual holiday lights display that runs throughout the entire city, almost every building and park participates and is lit up at night. Historic St. Augustine is about 40-45 minutes from Jacksonville and is worth the trip. Please see our "Things to do" page to find more information about St. Augustine. And feel free to get in touch with Elizabeth or Joseph if there are any questions or if you need recommendations (we have tons!).
This is a more laid-back and informal event - suit and tie or formal dresses are not necessary but certainly welcome if you chose to dress up. We just ask no jeans, shorts, or flip-flops please. Even though this is Florida, please be mindful it can still get quite chilly in the winter, especially after the sun goes down.
The wedding celebration is adults only. Unfortunately, the venue we have chosen will not allow children. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Please reach out to us if you need help finding child care so you are able to come celebrate the night out with us!
