Our celebrated couple met on Bumble in January of 2023. If you ask Jerrod, he’ll be quick to point out Elizabeth left him on “read” for a month (she was busy!). Eventually, Elizabeth got around to responding, and that brief initial connection still turned into exactly what it was meant to be. Their first date was at Celtic Tavern in Middletown. After a brief 6 hour chat, Elizabeth had to leave for babysitting duty. Jerrod neglected to kiss her that night (who’s leaving who on “read” now!), but they didn’t stay apart long. The second date followed only a few days later (Jerrod kissed her this time), and soon they were inseparable. Elizabeth & Jerrod fell in love with each other and their time spent together. Playing tennis (poorly), computer & tabletop games, ambitious collaborative cooking projects, workouts, and international travel plans quickly became reality. Jerrod introduced Elizabeth to Critical Role and OrangeTheory, both now major parts of her life. Elizabeth introduced Jerrod to the New York Times crossword, which somehow escalated into an annual tradition of attending the American Crossword Puzzle Tournament together. Six months into dating, they took their first big leap and traveled to Greece together. It was their first trip as a couple, and even while laying on the white sand in Naxos together they would joke about how they could possibly find a better honeymoon locale. Since then, despite exploring several more countries side by side, they’ve concluded nothing could be more special than revisiting those early days of travel. So, they’ll be returning to Athens & Naxos for the honeymoon. Somewhere along the way, Jerrod started referring to this shared love and experience as their “happy little life.” It’s made up of big adventures and small rituals: playing co-op video games together late into the evening, watching their favorite TV shows next to a warm fireplace, and hitting up their favorite cafes (shoutout to Atticus) after a sunny Saturday morning OrangeTheory class. It’s the comfort of choosing each other again and again, and it’s a little life that couldn’t be happier. When discussing the upcoming wedding, people often ask “why New Hampshire?”. Elizabeth grew up with a family house on Lake Winnipesaukee, and it’s always held exceptional sentimental and emotional value to her. Jerrod has only made that deeper and more meaningful. It was on July 3rd, 2023, while sitting on the porch at the lake house, that Jerrod said “I love you” for the first time. It’s only fitting that they’re getting married on the lake so full of cherished memories and meaning. A place that truly feels like home. Besides - Jerrod’s family is in Ohio and Elizabeth’s is in Connecticut, so people will be traveling no matter what state it’s in. They figured it’s best to make it fair and make everyone travel! The couple understands it’s a long drive, but hopes sincerely that their beloved guests can attend. They can’t wait to celebrate their happy little life with all of you!
