We're getting Married!

Back in 2016 Curley went down to San Diego to help celebrate her best friend, Lauren DeVoy's college graduation. The day before Lauren wanted to go on a bar crawl in Pacific Beach to celebrate. Curley spent the majority of the day with Lauren's older sister Drew and her then boyfriend, Chris. Chris decided to call one of his college buddies, Jeff, who lived in the area to see if he wanted to join. Jeff reluctantly acquiesced and Curley and Jeff met and spent the next couple of hours together getting to know each other. Shortly after that they went on their first date.

Over our many years together Curley and Jeff have been very lucky to go on lots of amazing adventures together. Their first trip together was to Sequoia Kings Canyon. They went hiking up Alta Peak and explored the park. This trip was memorable, so much so that they named one of their dogs "Sequoia." Since then they have had many Van adventures up the West Coast of California, Oregon, and Washington and through Nevada, Utah, and Wyoming. Trips with Jeff usually involve mountains and Curley has been a great adventure companion, culminating in grand adventures like their 2022 trip to Switzerland's Lauterbrunnen Valley and Zermatt.

Turkey has always been a special place to Jeff and his family, and Curley joined them for a week Sailing through the Turquoise Coast. After a few days of relaxing and exploring ancient ruins and beautiful beaches, the day of the proposal finally arrived. The plan was to explore the sunken city of Simena. They anchored and went paddleboarding through islands with ancient cathedrals and caves, which to Curley is a perfect day. That evening they were to have sunset drinks on top of Simena Castle. The family and crew hopped in the tender to the island. On the way there, heading dead into the wind, and Jeff was sitting in front of Curley and got completely soaked, but he didn't care as he was protecting her from getting the brunt of the splashes off the bow of the tender. Once they made it to the town, they headed up to the castle as Jeff's family hung back, making their way up the winding castle staircases. Jeff found a quiet little spot, surrounded by ancient stone fortifications and the sea, to pop the question. Soon after, they made our way up to the top of the castle, where they were met by Jeff's family and the Crew of the boat, with champagne and appetizers to celebrate!
