Wine Country
Temecula is the nearest wine country to San Diego and is about a 40 minute drive (depending on where you stay).
White Labs
White labs provides yeast to various Brewers around the world. While they don't produce beer for external sale, you can sample various beers here, tasting the differences caused only by different yeasts. You can also do a free tour and see some of the lab equipment and hear more about the process.
LEGOLAND California
Legoland is a theme park in Carlsbad that is a little more affordable than a trip to Disneyland. Local to the San Diego area, you can get here in about 30 to 40 minutes.
Disneyland Resort
Disneyland is always worth a trip if you've never been there. While Disneyland ia the inspiration for the Magic Kingdom in Orlando, California Adventure offers a unique experience with a California theme. You can usually hit both parks in one day, but you should expect to hit the road early and get home well after dark. Traffic can get bad depending on the time of day, so anticipate at least two hours of driving.
La Jolla Cove
This free activity will take you close to seals and sea lions that have made the cove and important habitat on the California coast. Please read up on to cove before making the trip and ensure you aren't doing anything to frighten, endanger, or harm the animals during your visit.
Torrey Pines Gliderport
