Things To Do

Philadelphia is best known for its cheese steaks, Gritty, Rocky...and oh yeah the signing of the Constitution. If you're into nerding out on US history, then walking around Olde City is the best way to experience colonial life. Visit the Liberty Bell, the Constitution Center, or the Museum of the American Revolution. For the non-history buff, Philly is home to lots of street art, parks, breweries and eateries.

Fishtown

Corner of Frankford and Girard, Philadelphia, PA

Fishtown is our old stomping grounds before we bought our house in Port Richmond. Its a great neighborhood to walk around, grab coffee at LaColombe, and check out some vintage furniture at Jinxed. Once the caffeine has worn off and you're ready for a cocktail, you have several options along Frankford Avenue. If you are under 30, check out Garage. If you’re over 30, don’t worry about it. Johnny Brenda’s is a classic dive with great food. Suraya and Laser Wolf are fantastic meal options, but usually require a reservation at dinner time. Some other recommendations include Cake Life Bakery, Fabrika, Pizza Shackamaxon, Weckerly’s Ice Cream, Frankford Hall, Fishtown Tavern, Front Street Cafe, and Sancho Pistola’s, and Pizzeria Beddia.

Manayunk

Main Street at Shurs Lane, Philadelphia, PA

Another super cute neighborhood to explore is Manayunk. Follow Kelly Drive from the Art Museum and you will eventually find yourself on Main Street. Keep an eye out for the Schuylkill (schoo-kill, say that five times fast) river on your left. ;) Lots of cute shops and restaurants are nestled along the Manayunk Canal Towpath. Manayunk Brewpub and Winnie’s Le Bus are local faves.
