Flight
We recommend booking your flights to/from SFO or OAK airport and then renting a car to reach Mendocino, approximately three hours from San Francisco. Many of you are traveling from NY/NJ, London and Paris and therefore, we priced out flights from those major airports. Our wedding is the weekend after the US holiday, Labor Day. Therefore, the summer rush will have slowed down at most airports. Flights from EWR to SFO in September are between $300-400 Flights from LHR or CDG to SFO in September are between $650-850
Rental Car
We highly recommend coordinating with friends or family and driving up the coast or through the Anderson Valley vineyards in a car or van rental. The experience will be memorable and the three hour drive, shared. Highway 1, on the coast, and Highway 128, through the Anderson Valley, are windy roads. We do not recommend driving either path after sunset. The sun sets just after 7pm in Mendocino come September.
Hotel
We have reserved The Heritage House Resort for the weekend. We recommend calling and using the code LowryAngle or booking online using the group code LAW. The Heritage House has an incredible story - read here - https://www.nytimes.com/1988/01/31/travel/a-california-inn-for-romance.html. The majority of resort's accommodation are one bedroom suites with one king size bed spread over 38 acres. We recommend two guests to a room where possible to accommodate all guests. The resort has rollaway beds to accommodate three guests to a room. There are a limited number of options for families or groups of four or five, including two bedroom suites, two bedrooms with two queen size beds and two cottages. Cell service is also limited. The resort is not handicap friendly, due to the downward slope of the property. Access to rooms require steps, from a few to a flight. The Albion Inn, located five minutes down the road provides flat accommodations.
Hotel
The Albion River Inn is a five minute drive from The Heritage House Resort. There is ample parking at The Heritage House Resort.
