Elizabeth and Adam first met through a mutual friend on a casual Friday night out. By way of fate, it happened to be at Zelda's Cafe, once owned by family friend Tom Callahan and frequently visited by the Michalek family during weekend trips to Newport throughout the 90s and 2000s. After a couple months, Adam eventually (finally!) built up the courage to ask Elizabeth out on their final first date ever.

One who knows Elizabeth knows that there are war strategy courses at the Naval War College down the road that are easier to pass than surprising her. Adam planned a sneak attack on Elizabeth's birthday weekend, proposing on March 11th, one day before her birthday. A fake brunch reservation was made with friends, Matthew (in from Denver) nestled in his hole in the dunes with his camera ready and both sets of parents waiting for the word. Although we battled rain (and cold and wind and sand), Elizabeth accepted Adam's proposal to marry at Third Beach in Middletown, RI shortly after 9am on 3.11.23.
