Nick and Eliza met on Closing Day at Sun Valley on April 11, 2021 and took their first run together down Warm Springs. While the intent (at least Eliza's) was to ski Warms Springs top to bottom, Nick, having never met a New Yorker that can ski, stopped a quarter of the way through to check in on Eliza. To Nick's surprise, Eliza was close behind and she was puzzled by why they were hitting the brakes. From that point forward, Nick knew better than to take it slow! Since that first date, Nick and Eliza have shared many more adventures both on and off the hill - everything from exploring new hikes to chasing birds in Eastern Oregon with their loving pup Monty to travelling through the Alps, South Africa and Uruguay. While the adventures have been accompanied by a few small bumps along the way - broken trailer hitches, faulty navigation, yard sales and phone-swallowing snow banks - Nick and Eliza wouldn't have it any other way. Just like the day Nick proposed to Eliza. Sunny and clear on the skin up Mt. Bachelor, overcast with no view of the Cascades during the proposal and of course, sunny on the drive home. It was perfectly Nick and Eliza and quintessential Central Oregon weather. Eliza and Nick are excited to continue their adventure as forever ski partners and together are ready to take on both the bumps and the champagne powder days.
