After a long day at work, Sarah (Kyle's sister) and Eliza headed out for a drink. Between laughs, jokes, and a few glasses of Pinot Noir, Sarah threw an idea out to Eliza. "Let me set you up with my brother," she encouraged, "I just think you two will be perfect together and fall in love." And now we're here, almost 4 years later.
On their first date, Kyle and Eliza met at Ichabod's in Union Square. After they finished their meal, they took to the West Village to explore and meander around in the rain. Fast forward 12 hours and many subways later, they ended up in Shake Shack sharing fries and laughing about who would be in their wedding parties. On their second date, Eliza came home afterward and told her Maid of Honor, Natalie Jensen, "I think he's the one."
After Citi Biking almost 15 miles (and attending a virtual engagement appointment that morning) on April 24, they came home to have some downtime at the apartment. Pre-shower, Kyle called a fabulous Argentine restaurant in Long Island City to see if they had a table available for two. They did, but it was in 15 minutes. In a flurry, they were out the door running back to the Citi Bike stop outside of their apartment to get to the restaurant in time. After a few failed attempts of getting Eliza to go down to the water ahead of going to the restaurant ("we have 15 minutes!! it takes 20 minutes to get there!!") the pieces finally fell into place sitting on a park bench overlooking the Manhattan skyline. Eventually, they arrived at the restaurant about 1.5 hours late.
