The hotel is approximately a 10-minute drive from the venues, and transport will be provided to and from the wedding venues. Room types are limited, so we recommend booking early to secure your preferred option. Special block rates are available for our guests. Breakfast is included with your stay. Parking is available.

Lainston House

Lainston House is a luxurious five-star, 17th-century country house hotel set within 63 acres of beautiful Hampshire parkland. If you’re a fan of Downton Abbey, this is very much your kind of place! The hotel is approximately a 25-minute drive from the wedding venues, and taxis can be arranged through the reception. As this is a heritage property, there is no elevator, and only a limited number of air-conditioned rooms are available on the ground floor. Breakfast is included with your stay, and parking is available. If you’re considering staying here, we recommend booking early. Travelodge Winchester

Located in the heart of Winchester, Travelodge is a comfortable, budget-friendly option for guests looking for a simple overnight stay. While there is no on-site parking, it’s within walking distance of the train station and has easy access to public transport. The hotel is approximately a 15-minute drive from the wedding venue. Please note that block rates are not available for this hotel.

Nearest International Airports: London Heathrow – approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes by car to Alresford. London Gatwick – approximately 2 hours by car. For international guests, taxis can be pre-booked to transfer you directly from Heathrow or Gatwick to Alresford or the hotel, which is the quickest and most straightforward option. Please look at the Taxi Section. Nearest Local Airport (if travelling within the UK): Southampton Airport – approximately 30 minutes by taxi to Alresford. Taxis are available, and there is a direct South Western Railway train service to Winchester, followed by a short taxi journey.

BY TRAIN

By Train (From Heathrow) Alternatively, you can travel by train via London if you are travelling light. Take the Heathrow Express or Elizabeth Line to Paddington Station. From there, take a quick underground to London Waterloo. From London Waterloo, there are 3 trains an hour to Winchester (approximately 1 hour 15 minutes), and then a short taxi ride to Alresford or the hotel. By Train (From London & Beyond) Nearest train station: Winchester – approximately 10–15 minutes by taxi to Alresford. Direct trains run regularly from London Waterloo to Winchester (about 1 hour 15 minutes), making this the easiest option for guests travelling from London or nearby areas. From Winchester station, taxis are readily available for onward travel to Alresford or the hotel.

BY CAR

By Car (UK & International Visitors) From London, Alresford is a 1-hour 30-minute drive through the beautiful English countryside. Alresford is approximately 20 minutes from the M3. Driving offers the most flexibility and is often the quickest way from Heathrow or Gatwick, but public transport via Winchester is a convenient alternative. Both Alresford and Winchester are well signposted, with parking available locally.

Parking in Alresford Parking will be available at the Hotel & the Wedding Reception Venue. For parking near the church, please refer to the below options. Alresford Street Parking Short-term street parking is available for 1–2 hours. Please check local signage for restrictions. Perins School Car Park A convenient option for visitors, with easy access to the town centre. Station Car Park Located near Alresford Station. Please note that spaces can be limited at times due to the Watercress Line Steam Railway, especially on weekends. Albery Park Car Park A short, pleasant walk into the town from the car park. Ideal for longer stays or exploring the shops and cafés.

For guests travelling from overseas, please check visa requirements for entry into the United Kingdom as early as possible.
