Liam and Elise met at Midwestern Seminary while in the same graduate degree program and became fast friends thanks to shared experiences and a very similar sense of humor. While there was definitely some initial attraction on both sides, they stayed friends for a while before any romance started. After their first year they stayed in contact over the summer, laughing together on the phone and keeping up with other friends. Right at the end of that summer, Liam's friend noticed him smiling down at his phone a little too often and asked who he was talking to (spoiler: it was Elise). At the start of the new semester, Liam confessed his feelings to Elise. Though she didn't ask him to, he happily waited another 6 months for her to agree to go on a date with him. And what a date it was! Liam did his research (asked her best friends), and they went out for sushi and jazz. Prime Sushi is still one of their favorite date-night destinations, and even though they haven't gone back to Johnny's, they highly recommend it. From then on, Liam and Elise grew in affection and had a lot of fun together. Liam had it tough though, because while he was head-over-heels, Elise took a little longer to fall. It wasn’t until a couple months in, after she went on a spring break trip without him, that she realized how deeply she cared for him. Thank goodness he was so patient! He still is, as most everyone knows. From the very beginning, he pursued Elise in a Godly and gentle way, loving her deeply and showing his leadership as they grew towards engagement. Thank goodness Elise was patient too because it took him long enough! Now, even through engagement, Liam has lead well in preparing both of them for marriage! Life is never easy, but the Lord is faithful and their love for him and each other is still growing every single day. They can’t wait to share their love for each other before God and before all of you on their wedding day, and they could not be more grateful to friends and family for your love, support, and excitement!
