Meet our family and friends who are walking down the aisle with us

Cara

Bridesmaid

Cara and Elise met when Cara’s family moved to Westborough in 2003. They bonded over their love for swimming pools and the Animal Ark book series that Cara owned all 94 copies of. Much like the book's main character, Cara is the daughter of two veterinarians (John and Gail). During every summer for a decade (2003-2013), Elise could be found at the Berg residence. They're favorite hangout spots ranged from the tent they pitched in the backyard, the frog pond in between their houses, Uhlman farms ice-cream stand, and the Westborough High School track. Beauty and brains; Cara worked her butt off to get into UMASS Medical School. Cara is following in her Dad's footsteps to become the next Dr. Berg, however she is trading animal patients for human patients. Cara is currently completing her rotations so please get this girl a drink if you see her empty handed post ceremony as she will be coming straight from the neonatal ICU and is taking two out of the zero days she gets off the entire semester to be at our wedding!

Sidney

Bridesmaid

Everyone needs a Sidney in their life. Someone who can make you smile and is always fun to be around. Elise and Sidney met when Sidney was five years old when their families became neighbors and best friends. Their four year age difference has never stopped them from becoming close. Sidney and Elise are similar in so many ways including their often juvenile sense of humor. They are always laughing when they are together which usually annoys Sidney's older sister, Cara (left). Elise, Sidney, Cara, and their families will be friends forever. Although they have not lived in the same state since 2013, Sidney can still make Elise laugh at least 1x/week by sending a snapchat video of her dancing with her cat; Professor Moo. A very proud cat mom, Sidney and Moo are currently living their best life in Boston, MA. As an apprentice buyer for TJX, it's no wonder Sidney's the friend you will always want to go to for fashion advice.

Charlotte

Bridesmaid

Charlotte and Elise became friends in middle school and were inseparable throughout their entire high school career. They were referred to as 'Thing 1' and 'Thing 2' by their favorite basketball coach. Charlotte possesses all of the qualities you would want in a best friend. It is physically impossible for her to say something mean about anyone. She is kind, funny, clever, and has always been able to bring Elise back down to earth. If you knew these two in high school, you would think that they could communicate telepathically since they were always on the same page with each other. Whether it was a night out with friends, or a movie night in together, they managed to have the best time. A surprise to all, they went to colleges hundreds of miles away from each other despite their (only slightly) co-dependent relationship. This year marks 10 years since they graduated Westborough High School. Elise is so thankful her and Charlotte have remained close. Even though they are still living states away, they continue to bond over their love of the funny animal videos that make up their entire Instagram feed. It's unusual for a day to go by without one of them Instagram/Facebook DM-ing a meme or two as this has become their main form of communication.

Leila

Bridesmaid

Leila and Elise met during Elise's second semester of freshmen year. Their friendship could not have come at a better time for Elise as she was homesick and debating on whether or not to transfer to a school closer to Boston. Imagine if Elise had left HPU that year, she would have never met Joe, so I guess they owe Leila a big thank you. Leila became Elise's sorority "big sister" and took that role very seriously throughout the remainder of college and for the two years they lived together in Northern Virginia post grad. She was always looking out for Elise and cleaning up her messes (and still does to this day). Leila is the definition of a "dead body buddy;" the friend that you can call anytime, day or night, after you've killed someone and they will come help you hide the body without any questions because they know if you killed them they must have needed killing (hypothetically of course). She is also the first person you call when you want to plan a fun trip somewhere for two reasons. Reason one: she is incredibly organized and resourceful. Reason two: she has probably already been there since she has traveled to almost every US state and continent. Although Leila is a stateside and world traveler, she always makes time to visit Elise and Joey whether they are in Virginia, Cape Cod, Florida, or now; Colorado.

Lexie

Bridesmaid

Elise and Lexie met their freshman year of college at a fitness boot camp neither of them wanted to be at. They joined the same sorority and became best friends and eventually roommates for their senior year. They were always by each other's side. Lexie is a natural born leader and was the proud solo member of the party planning committee for Wilson 302 (the apartment they lived in Senior year with four other sorority sisters). To this day, she is the first person to call if you want to go out and have a good time. Lexie is the most hard working and determined human you will ever meet and also knows how to make the most of every experience. Elise's favorite thing about Lexie is her YOLO (you only live once) attitude. Lexie is currently living in Dallas, TX as a full time girl-boss with her husband (Alex) and fur child Payton. Elise and Lexie do their best to make their long distance relationship work, but one day they swear they will live on a farm together somewhere where they can raise their kids together. Joey and Alex can come too if they want.

Matthew

Groomsman

Twelve feet tall and living proof that highway boys don't die, Matthew and Joe have known each other since Matthew was born. Being cousins in a family that spent most of their summers together, Joe and Matthew have watched each other grow up for 23 years. Despite getting into more fights than Joe or Matthew could count (mainly because Matthew probably can't remember and Joe can't count that high) while growing up, Joe and Matthew now would much rather beat up on themselves after having a terrible day on the golf course than beat up on each other. A college athlete (not a big deal) and one of the funniest people Joe and Elise have ever met, Matthew has seen Joe and Elise's relationship grow pretty much since the beginning. Elise and Joe are also eternally grateful that he chose a school so close to them so Joe could see Matthew play some baseball at Hood College and attend his graduation. The ultimate vibes guy, Matthew just wants to have a good time, and not take things too seriously (a trait Joe wishes he had sometimes).

Kyle

Groomsman

Kyle and Joe first met freshman year of college and became quick friends bonding over an uncanny ability to hold full conversations with each other using nothing but "The Office" quotes. A Hip Hop enthusiast; Kyle has forgotten more about hip hop music than Joe will ever remember. Kyle and Joe spent most nights in college at the basketball courts, running pick up games for hours at a time. Unfortunately for Elise, Kyle is also the reason Joe has picked up golf, which he is still not sure if he should thank or curse Kyle for. Much like Joe knows way too much about hockey, the same could be said for Kyle about basketball. While neither Joe nor Kyle much took to the other's preferred sport, there was never a shortage of games to watch in their dorm once winter rolled around at High Point University. Kyle is one of the nicest, most genuine people around which makes him able to get along with just about anyone. Joe and Kyle have spent countless hours talking NBA, NHL, music, culture, philosophy, the Office (of course), religion, politics, and pretty much any other topic you could ever think of. Lastly, to top all that off, since Kyle is the textbook definition of a renaissance man, please be sure to find him on the dance floor when "Teach Me How to Dougie" comes on at the wedding, you're in for a real treat.

Andy

Groomsman

Andy is another friend of Joe's hailing from the great state of Pennsylvania. Again, another friendship that is now getting so old it's almost allowed to drive, Andy and Joe became fast friends similar to how most boys become friends through middle and high school, getting into mischief. As they got older and were in their upper class years of high school and through college, the mischief, believe it or not, generally revolved around drinking one or two too many light beers by some sort of make shift fire. Joe went to school in North Carolina and frequent trips back to Pittsburgh meant that Joe was always going to get to see Andy at least one of those days he was back in town. Andy stayed in Pittsburgh for school and went to THE Duquesne University which meant that more shenanigans would be had tearing up the bar scene on E Carson Street. One of the most focused individuals and hardest workers Joe has ever met, for as long as Joe has known Andy, Andy has known he has wanted to be a doctor. Andy worked all through high school, worked through college (while in school and over the summer), and just recently graduated from medical school at Lake Erie College of Medicine. Andy is also in the Air Force and currently in the midst of his residency in Northern Virginia.

Jake

Groomsman

Jake and Joe have been friends now for nearly two decades. Going all the way back to playing youth lacrosse together and getting into all sorts of childhood shenanigans through middle and high school. During their high school years, Jake and Joe spent most of their time either at lacrosse practice, or playing street hockey. After graduating high school together, Jake went on to graduate from Penn State Behrend and returned to the big apple (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) where he is now currently working. Despite Joe moving all up and down the east coast, and now living out in Colorado, Jake and Joe continue to stay in touch with each other and talk frequently about country music, or whatever funny situations they're still finding themselves in to this day. Whenever Joe makes the trip back to Western PA, Jake is always one of the first people he reaches out to, and Jake is always down to grab some beers and reminisce on all the joys and pains of our younger years.

Ian

Groomsman

Ian and Joe were roommates for 3 years in college. Ian; who has always been an over achiever, decided to graduate in 3 years instead of 4. At the ripe age of 28, Ian already owns his own business and has experienced major success in the world of real estate since graduating from HPU. While Ian is quite the hard worker, whenever he is not working deals, you'll probably find him on the golf course. Making sure he is always keeping you guessing, Joe has seen Ian drive the ball right down the middle of the fairway like an absolute pro, and follow that up with four straight shots into the woods resulting in a pretty gnarly triple bogey on the scorecard, and then get angry at Joe for laughing! Despite getting into the "real" world a year earlier than the rest of us, Ian has always made the time to visit Joe and Elise. Living in Boston now, it didn't matter if Joe was living in North Carolina, Virginia, or now Colorado, Ian always makes sure to come out and visit and, despite objections, pick up a bar tab or two (or three).

Fenton

Father of the Bride

To know him is to love him. Fenton is one of the most likable guys you will ever meet. The handiest man; when he isn't busy fixing things around the house, he spends a lot of time golfing, biking, boating, and making his friends and family laugh. He doesn’t take life too seriously and he is always up for any adventure (even if it means waking up in the middle of the night to take the boat out and stargaze). He has been married to his best friend for 40 years and is great at being a Dad.

Melody

Mother of the Bride

A.k.a. eager beaver as she is extremely hard working and enthusiastic about making a difference in the lives of others. Melody is the definition of "work-life balance" as she knows when to put the computer away and have a good time. She loves being outside in the sunshine and spending time with her family. She is the best person to call when you have a problem in need of solving because she always has the best advice for everything (even when you didn't ask for it). Just teasing, she's awesome!

Marti-ann

Mother of the Groom

They say our attitude towards life determines life's attitude towards us. While that may be true, Marti-ann would say everything she has put into life, life has sent more than double back to her. She's never one to want for anything, and only wanting to give. She is the ray of sunshine on a cloudy day. She makes lemonade out of lemons. Her positive can-do attitude is infectious and she brings out the best in everyone she meets. Her laugh will make you smile and she’s the only person in the world who can make banana cake just the way Joey likes it. We hope you get a chance to meet her on the big day!

Joe

Father of the Groom

No matter how tall Joey gets, he will always look up to this guy. Joe is one of the hardest workers you will ever get the chance to meet, but these days is enjoying life on the slow slide in his retirement down in Florida with Marti-ann, once again showing how hard work does in fact pay off. At an age we wouldn't dare share on this website, Joe is still hitting the gym, playing tennis, and chopping down his golf score to a respectable low 80's (most of the time). He is the first person Joey calls when he gets in the car to go anywhere, the conversation usually revolves around Penguins hockey, or comparing their days where Joey talks about his struggles to manage a class of 32 6th graders, while Joe talks about how he got a double bogey on the 11th hole, which if you ask Joe, are both equally frustrating.

Liam

Ring Bearer

If you are looking for a best friend then Liam is your guy! He will make you laugh with his T-Rex and lion impressions and we wouldn't be surprised if he acts like a bear while walking down the aisle.

Lily

Flower Girl

Lillian takes being a flower girl very seriously. Flowers are some of her favorite things along with rainbows and unicorns. If you let her, she will tell you her whole (3 year) life story.

Lyla

Flower Girl

Lyla is the leader of the pack! She inherited her parents love of dancing. She also loves painting and to be outside riding her bike and scooter with her little brother and cousins.

James

Ring Bearer

James might only be 3 years old but he knows a thing or two about hard work. He loves to do all things construction with his dad and is always looking for a task to do outside like mowing the lawn or leaf blowing. He does make a mean pizza and takes breaks from all the hard work to ride his bike and scooter with Lyla!

Mark

Officiant

Mark is Elise’s maternal uncle. Mark is a teacher, sports coach, and family man. He is very involved in the Baptist Church he attends; serving as a Deacon, Guest Preacher, Sunday school teacher, and Youth Leader. Being the last born of the eight Kalinkewicz kids growing up must not have been easy, however, it made him into the sociable, charming, loving; brother, husband, father, grandfather, and uncle he is today. He is often the one to get everyone together and speak at family gatherings. For all of these reasons, Elise and Joe felt he was the obvious choice as their officiant. They are so grateful he accepted their request and feel lucky to have him be a part of their wedding day. Mark is also probably the most stylish Kalinkewicz brother and is always wearing the funnest pair of shoes; keep an eye out on the big day!
