While you cannot visit an operating Carthusian monastery, you can visit this museum to learn about the history of Chartreuse, see examples of the rooms that the monks live in, and buy some Chartreuse from the gift shop!
The Venice of France nestled in the mountains! Its a gorgeous visit and day trip from Chambéry!
Visit Lyon, France for a variety of cultural and gastronomical experiences! Lyon is the 3rd largest city in France, and has so much to explore! It is only ~1hr away by train or car from Chambéry and could be a fun day trip if you have extra time!
