What is the dress code?

Black-Tie Optional: Tuxes and gowns are preferred, but not required.

Are Children Welcome?

Answer

We love your kids - we really do! But we want our wedding to be your night off! Therefore, this is an adults-only wedding.

Is there a shuttle from the hotel blocks to the chapel?

Answer

Yes! A Shuttle bus will be available from The Mayflower and State Plaza Hotel to the chapel. The bus will leave promptly at 2:00pm from The State Plaza (Lobby on F Street side). Then collect guests at The Mayflower Hotel at 2:15pm (Side exit door on Desales Street). The chapel is a fifteen-minute drive from both hotels. We highly recommend our hotel guests use the shuttle service!

Is there parking for the ceremony?

Answer

We have reserved parking for the ceremony at Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School, 1524 35th Street N.W., Washington D.C. This is about a 5-minute walk to the chapel. Please Note: The parking lot will be locked at 5:30PM. Any cars remaining in the lot past 5:30PM will not be retrievable until the next morning.

What should we do between the ceremony and cocktail hour?

Answer

We are providing transportation back to both the hotels (The Mayflower and The State Plaza), feel free to freshen up or enjoy a cocktail at The Mayflower bar. Please note: If you go back to your hotel room there will be a shuttle from the hotel to AIA at 5:00pm.

What about parking for cocktail hour and reception?

Answer

We would not recommend driving into the city as parking options are limited and restrictive. If you do drive, there are a few parking garages located within walking distance: Colonial Parking at 1800 G Street NW, Colonial Parking at 1776 G St NW, and One Parking at 1730 Pennsylvania Ave.

Our wedding is RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation.

Is there transportation after the reception?

Answer

There will be no transportation after the reception. The State Plaza and The Mayflower are both a ten minute walk or a short uber ride.
