Main Street is home to many local artisan shops and wine tasting rooms! Take a stroll down the street and enjoy California wines, local stores, and some delicious bites. If you find a bottle you love, take it to the park and enjoy it alongside the stream.
Tour the grounds of Ironstone Vineyard, a gorgeous estate a few miles from Main Street. The road leading up to the vineyard is beautiful and would make for a lovely morning walk or run. You may spot some cows and horses grazing along the way! There is a Gold Rush museum, cafe, and tasting room within the grounds as well.
Explore the Big Trees State Park, where you can wonder through two groves of giant Sequoia Trees.
Murphys is a historic, Gold Rush town after all - what better way to experience this California gem than visiting the Moaning Caverns. Gold miners first explored these caves in the 1840s and 1850s. You can explore these caverns by taking a tour down a metal spiral staircase!
Rent a boat and have a lake day on New Melones lake! The marina is ~30 minutes from Main Street in Murphys.
Murphys is a ~3 hour drive from the heart of Yosemite. While it may be difficult to squeeze in a day trip, you could consider extending your stay and spending a night or two in Yosemite. This national park is near and dear to our hearts! Fun fact - Trevor hiked Half Dome for the first time at 7 years old (in light up sneakers)!
