This property has been in the family for over 3 generations. The farm was purchased by Doug Fonda in 1937 as a gentlemen’s farm. Doug was married to Elisabeth's Great Aunt Verna. The original property, which extended through the RV resort next door, included a barn, milkhouse, farmhouse, and an airplane hangar. Doug and Verna experimented with growing various crops at the farm and at one point even raised some cattle! While it has not had crops, livestock, or airplane landings for a long time, The Farm has provided family and friends a unique retreat from the real world. This beautiful venue overlooking the Elk River has played host to 5 other family weddings, Thanksgivings, 4th of July parties, and countless other festivities.
