Our story began in March 2021. We were a full year into Covid and nearing the end of our time at our respective colleges. Our days were filled with studying, working, spending time with friends, parties, post-graduation plans, oh, and swiping left and right on dating apps. As luck would have it, we met on Tinder. We messaged each other every chance we got whether it was at school, work, or home. The conversations were easy, flirtatious, and full of promise. It wasn’t long before we moved to talking on the phone. Our days had fun and sporadic phone calls throughout, and our nights soon became filled with late night conversations. One of my favorite early memories of Liz is when she kept me company while I drove to visit a friend in Las Vegas. We talked for hours. We talked about which city I was driving by, fun facts about each other, what our families were like, and so on. Every day we got a little closer. When the anticipation and excitement became too much, I decided to end my trip a day early so we could finally meet. As we hoped, our first meeting was perfect. From that moment on, we both knew that we would be in each other’s lives for a long time. Fast forward to April 2023, we took a trip to Italy, as all young couples do when they’re in love (and when their future sister-in-law is studying abroad in Rome). We drank wine, ate pizza, and saw many historic sites. One of our stops in Italy was Positano, which is a popular village on the Amalfi Coast. We meandered through the stone village streets until we came upon the beach. Finally, away from all the crowds, we walked along the coast holding hands and took breaks to gaze at the sea. At this point in the love story, it was obvious to both of us what would come next. After kneeling on the beach’s sand, a moving speech, and some tears, I asked Elisabeth to be in my life forever. We are looking forward to seeing all of you in August! Barry
