There is no better time to join a dating website than during a global pandemic, or at least that is what Jacob and Eli both thought. And when searching for a faith-filled partner, there is no better place to look than CatholicMatch, or again, that is what they both thought. Turns out they were right because in November, 2020, Jacob saw Eli's profile on CatholicMatch and saw something in it that sparked curiosity and eventually, a message. The conversation was nothing riveting. In fact, days and sometimes weeks would go by before Eli would respond. Once the new year hit and Jacob was still around, Eli finally took the hint that this guy was interested. It took some coaxing but eventually there was a first date at Eli's house in Indianapolis because her car conveniently had car issues that weekend. Jacob, being the true gentleman, drove 4 hours round-trip to meet Eli. Apparently the date went pretty well because soon after there was a second date, this time Eli driving down to New Albany where her best friend lived at the time. A second date led to a third date in Seymour, IN at Jacob's brother's apartment. It was at that date, Jacob and Eli defined the relationship and the newest couple officially came to be (if you think that was the night of our first kiss, think again. Took another two dates for that to happen!). With Eli living in Indianapolis and Jacob living near Louisville, their relationship has been filled with thousands of texts, calls, and miles driving back and forth to visit with one another. All of that has been difficult (let's be real), but worth it. It wasn't long until the "m" word was thrown out there as an option. On August 27th, 2022, Jacob made the "m" word a reality by popping a very important question at an unexpected time. Gathered around Eli's dining room table, playing cards, Jacob carefully stacked the deck to ensure that the queen of diamonds would be played by Eli. This was no ordinary queen of diamonds. It was a queen of diamonds that had the all-important question written on it. "Will you marry me?" Eli was stunned and confused but ultimately said "Yes!" Jacob and Eli are so excited to start their lives together as husband and wife on April 27th, 2024. They hope that you join them in this celebration and humbly ask for your prayers and well-wishes!
