Our Story
We first connected through our shared love of the podcast "Serial". In October 2018, Sarah Koenig, the creator of Serial, was scheduled to give a lecture at UChicago. Eliana was looking for someone to go with, while her friend-of-a-friend, Alex, had an extra ticket after his friend canceled. The rest is history!
After two years of long distance including two round-trip NYC to LA drives for Alex, a stint in Salt Lake for Eliana (lol), and lots of virtual Wingspan games played, we were able to close the gap back in Chicago where it all started.
On February 3, 2024, our fifth anniversary, we got engaged. We planned a mutual proposal weekend, giving ourselves a 24-hour window for each to propose. Alex, knowing Eliana's penchant for grand gestures, surprised her with a billboard proposal along the highway. Eliana, proposed to Alex in a quieter, more private way (he is not extra so this was perfect).
We feel so lucky to have found each other and cannot wait to celebrate with you!
